Review : Twisted (Tangled #2) by Emma Chase (CR)

Book Blurb

There are two kinds of people in the world. The ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. Cautious. A planner. That changed after I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself – and of me.

But not all love stories end happily ever after. Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Join the club. Now I have to make a choice, the most important of my life. Drew already made his –in fact, he tried to decide for the both of us. But you know that’s just not my style. So I came back to Greenville. Alone. Well, sort of alone....

What I've come to realize is that old habits die hard and sometimes you have to go back to where you began, before you can move ahead.

TWISTED picks up two years after Tangled’s end, and is told from Kate’s POV.

Toot's Review

OMG I love/hate you Drew!!

Ok I don’t truly hate him but right now, I do and even though he’s redeemed at the end, it will still take a bit for me to forgive him.

At the end of Emma Chase’s Tangled, the reader is utterly in love with the womanizing, frat boy turned exec, who’s the hero of the Tangled contemporary romance series. Then came the 2nd book in the series, Twisted and Drew totally blows everything to kingdom come.

Twisted picks up two years after book 1, Tangled. Kate and Drew have been living in their love cocoon for two years now. Yes they’ve had their ups and downs but they only seemed to grow stronger until a horrible misunderstanding breaks them apart, maybe for good? I don’t want to spoil the fun because if I spill the beans, the book will totally be ruined, so I’m going to stop there with the synopsis.

As for the book, OMG it was such a rollercoaster. If you haven’t read Tangled, I would suggest reading it first. Just like the titles, these stories are intertwined and even though the author does a good job explaining some of the history, I think it would lose a lot of its charm if you miss the relationship and character groundwork that is laid in the first book. With that being said, unlike the first book, this one is told from Kate’s POV. I’ve never been a big fan of Kate’s and I was a little hesitant reading this one because of my feelings towards her but like any good fan girl, I soldiered on and I’m so glad I did! The way this story twists, I can’t imagine it being told by any other way, although there were times that I was like…..”I wonder what Drew is doing or thinking?” *squirrel!!!* Anywho, Emma put out a wonderful follow up to the gem that is Tangled. Twisted is full of fun, romance, snarky remarks, fun party games (that I’m totally stealing), a ton of twists, WTF moments and the panty melting Drew but holly freakin’ hell…… the epilogue is the best part!!!! Love you, hate you Drew. Kate, nothing personal but you’re still just meh for me.

Now where’s my Kindle, so I can preorder the 3rd book, Tamed, which is Dee and Matthew's story. Oh and then there's Tied, which is told again from Drew's POV. CAN'T......FREAKIN'......WAIT!!!!
