Book Blurb

An artist agrees to frog-sit her niece's pet, "Toad." In a moment of whimsy, between cricket feedings, she kisses the frog. A short while later, she finds a handsome man in Regency clothing in her living room.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Alexander of Nemere refused to marry the daughter of a Duchess who happened to be a witch. After telling the Duchess he would not marry her daughter, she lets loose her wrath and magic.

Sofia is an artist living on her own. She adores her niece and gets talked into caring for her niece’s frog while they go out of town. Sofia is not thrilled to have the frog in her apartment and hopes it stays in its home and out of hers. However after time she becomes comfortable with it. She paints and talks to the frog. He even becomes her muse for her paintings.

One day she has a moment of feeling sorry for herself and the frog. She picks him up and kisses him. Wishing for a prince, she kisses the frog again. A bit disappointed she continues with her day. Her shock is evident when she finds a strange man in her apartment claiming to be the frog.

This is a modern day fairytale. My favorite part is when Sofia walks into the living room and comes face to face with Alex aka the frog. She completely freaks out. It was quite comical.

I do wish it would have been longer. Everything happened so fast. One minute it seemed Sofia was afraid of getting hurt then she wasn’t. I give it a 3 out of 5.
