Review : Grimnirs (Runes #2.5) by Ednah Walters (YA)

Book Blurb

Straight out of the psych ward, Cora just wants her life to be normal. She doesn’t want to see souls or the reapers collecting them. The guy she’s loved from a distance for years moves away without saying goodbye. So yes, she’s nursing a serious heartbreak. It’s no wonder love is the last thing on her mind when Echo storms into her life.

The chemistry between them is mind-blowing.The connection defies logic. Even better, the souls leave her alone when he is around.

Too bad Echo is the poster boy for everything she hates in a guy—hot, beautiful, and cocky. He is also a soul reaper. A Grimnir.
The very beings she wants out of her life. Maybe normal is overrated because Cora wants it all. Answers. Love. A life.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

This is Cora’s story. Maliina took over her identity while she was in a psych hospital. Now Cora is back trying to figure out what has been going on. Her best friends were absent the whole time. She thought Eirick had feelings for her. She is so angry and hurt. Plus she is still seeing souls and doesn’t want to alarm her parents. She is not going back to the hospital. She has no clue what to do. Then she meets a grimnir named Echo and she falls head first into Raine’s new world.

Her world changes more as Maliina is determined to fix her mistake with Eirick. As a result of that mistake grimnirs are coming after Cora. Cora is mortal and doesn’t stand a chance. They want her as bait for Eirick. Echo, Torin and the Valkyries rally to protect her and Eirick.

As danger unfolds Cara is drawn to Echo even though at first he thought she was Maliina. The more she learns the harder she falls. He refuses to attach himself to her. He is bad for her and he knows he can never have her since she is mortal. There is no future for them.

I absolutely love this series. This book was fun to read. The characters were amusing and full of attitude. Echo was the bad boy but Cora was his weakness. It was sigh worthy and sweet to read about. They were a great pairing and I liked how the author developed their relationship. Cora was a strong and confident character. She held her own and showed her loyalty. It is an excellent story and addition to the series. I give it a 5 out of 5.
