In this installment of the Redemption series, a cruel twist of fate causes the goddess of the hunt, Artemis, to take the life of her lover, Orion, on the day of their betrothal. As punishment, Zeus locks her away in a stone prison, vowing that she would always search for love and never find it, that her stubbornness and anger rule her and that his death lay at her feet. He strips her of her power and knowledge and casts her in stone. Her punishment is swift and severe. The goddess of love has other designs for the Huntress and works out a plan for Artemis to redeem herself and come home. Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

This story is part two of The Goddess Redemption. Zeus and Aphrodite are still providing challenges for Artemis in order to gain her powers back. She still has lessons to learn. This lesson is about jealousy. Artemis is reborn as Sara. Sara is a village witch that lives with her sister Meg. They are trying to save villagers from the shape shifters that attack them every night. In fact Sara and Meg have developed a barrier spell to keep the werewolves from attacking the homes. Sara has also been working on a cure but nothing works yet. Unfortunately with all the attacks, the wolf bane that she uses for the potions is becoming scarce. She has to travel farther out from home to find any.

She meets a werewolf on her way in search of what she needs. Her horse throws her and the potions she has with her have no effect. Victor is a hunter near by and hears the explosions from her potions. He comes running and kills the beast with a silver tipped arrow. He helps her home knowing that he should know her. He knew she had green eyes. He has feelings for her that he should not be experiencing. They have both been having visions and abruptly realize who they are.

However, they are now on a rescue mission as the werewolves have kidnapped her sister Meg. The shape shifters know who Sara and Victor are and relish the chance to kill them both.

This story was a well written novella that continues the story of Artemis and her punishment. I find it intriguing that she is being punished for her behavior. This story is about how she learns her lesson about jealousy. I feel sorry for the goddess and what she has to do to prove her lessons learned. Unfortunately her father Zeus is holding her accountable, which is as I said is cool as a story. I recommend this story. It is a fast read and very intriguing. I give it a 4 out of 5.
