The second book in the Hidden series. The whole group is back again and the story takes off in this book where the last one left off. Christine and her friends are living in California and keeping her safe from Kamon. Kamon wants her and is searching for her. Her memories of her mother are still gone and she is obsessing about the ghosts that she thinks were her parents. She is also feeling like she doesn't belong especially when Emma, Paul and Nathan get a job that will take them away for two months. She is being left behind as always.

As her friends go to training and prepare for their new job, Chris starts spending a lot of time with Lydia Shaw. Lydia decides to train Chris to use her powers. She is growing strong and she could be dangerous if she can't control them. Chris grows closer to Lydia and distracts herself from being left behind by her magical friends.

Things start to change when she remembers who her mother really is and past enemies are trying to destroy her life. It all comes down to a vision and the fourth of July. When her friends become pawns in to the war between Kamon and Lydia, Christine has to make some tough decisions to make things right.

I love this series. This book was just as good as the first. The direction the author took was exciting and shocking. I didn't see the partnership coming. I also was surprised how Chris's life would have been. That part was almost hard to read. I kept waiting for her to fix it. I have to say that was not my favorite part of the story. However, I can't wait until Shattered is available to see how the story continues. I give it a 5 out of 5.
