Just when you thought doomsday was over...
Centuries ago Acheron saved the human race by imprisoning an ancient evil bent on absolute destruction. Now that evil has been unleashed and it is out for revenge.
As the twin to Acheron, Styxx hasn’t always been on his brother’s side. They’ve spent more centuries going at each other’s throats than protecting their backs. Now Styxx has a chance to prove his loyalty to his brother, but only if he’s willing to trade his life and future for Acheron’s.
The Atlantean goddess of Wrath and Misery, Bethany was born to right wrongs. But it was never a task she relished. Until now. She owes Acheron a debt that she vows to repay, no matter what it takes. He will join their fellow gods in hell and nothing is going to stop her.
But things are never what they seem, and Acheron is no longer the last of his line. Styxx and Acheron must put aside their past and learn to trust each other or more will suffer.
Yet it’s hard to risk your own life for someone who once tried to take yours, even when it's your own twin, and when loyalties are skewed and no one can be trusted, not even yourself, how do you find a way back from the darkness that wants to consume the entire world? One that wants to start by devouring your very soul?

OMG......freakin'......just......WOW!!! All I can say is Styxx is EPIC!!! Besides being her biggest book to date at 848 pages and the audiobook being roughly 30 hours. I never in a million billion years would think that something could make me change my mind about my beloved Acheron but Styxx has.
Like Sherrilyn Kenyon's famous quote “There are always three sides to every memory…yours, theirs, and the truth, which lies somewhere in between the two”
Styxx has shined a light on many things that her book Acheron left out and his story is absolutely more heartbreaking, tear-jerking, soul-shredding, oooooey goooey book goodness then any of Sherrilyn's books previously. If you're a fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon and know the story of Acheron, you know that Styxx is his twin brother. In the book Acheron and other subsequent books, Styxx has always been portrayed as a spoiled Prince but it's the stuff in between that we didn't know as readers. It's the stuff that is kept hidden by rank, title, pride, honor, protectiveness or shame that blinds us all to what we don't want to see. Acheron was buried in his own pain at what was done to him as a child, that he clouded not only his mind but also us, as the readers. We all hated Styxx and even Sherrilyn said once that she didn't like him either but his story wouldn't go away. Once she opened to it, it absolutely broke her heart and I totally agree. There were moments in the book that I wanted to bitch-slap my beloved Acheron and that is not an easy thing to admit to, seeing I have a tattoo of his symbol on my own body.
I absolutely do not want to ruin a moment of this book for you. My only advice to anyone thinking of tackling this book is to READ ACHERON FIRST!!! You cannot separate twins and this story is really not complete without reading Acheron's first. Oh and I do want to say that the blurb is very misleading to the story. If you've read Acheron, it follows both men's childhood story, then just like Ash's book, breaks off into the more current events.
If you have read his, this basically parallels with his story. The timelines are almost identical and between the two books, you really get a full picture of the events that shaped these two heroes lives. And yes, she does also go back to the other scenes in other Dark Hunter books where we've seen Styxx and we get his POV as to what was going on and why he was there. There are also some MAJOR questions that are answered in the Dark Hunter world that were brought up from waaaaayyyyyyyy back in the original books and there's also some major events that fast-forward the overall timeline as well.
All I can say is, it's a modern day Greek tragedy at its best and firmly puts Sherrilyn Kenyon as the ruling Queen of PNR!
