Review : Just One Night (Just One Night #1-3) by Kyra Davis (Erotica)

Book Blurb

In this New York Times bestselling erotic enovella trilogy, a buttoned-up businesswoman takes her friend’s advice and has a fling with a stranger on a trip to Vegas—only to find herself under his mysterious, sexy power both in the boardroom and the bedroom.

Kasie Fitzgerald knows who she’s supposed to be. She’s a rising-star-workaholic at a global consulting firm. She’s the fiancĂ©e of a well-connected man who’s won the approval of her parents. People know that she’s reliable, serious, proper, cautious, pragmatic, and yes, a little predictable. She’s who Dave and her family want her to be.

But as her thirtieth birthday looms, buried feelings begin to resurrect. Her friend takes her to Vegas for one last wild and crazy night. In a dress much shorter and sexier than anything she has ever dared to wear before, she hits the blackjack tables. And meets him. Under the tailored clothes it’s clear that this is a man who is intense, powerful, and maybe even a little dangerous. With a touch of trepidation she accepts his invitation to get a drink, and before long, she’s in his hotel room.

She never gets his full name. Perhaps his anonymity is one of the reasons she’s able to give herself over to him and to the moment so completely.Perhaps it’s why she’s just had the most exquisite and passionate sex of her life. Shaken by her own behavior, Kasie tries to chalk it up to one crazy night. But when the mysterious gentleman she’s just had a fling with shows up in her office—as the CEO of a firm her company does a billion dollars of business with a year, demanding that she handle his account, and so much more—things will never be the same again. And there’s no telling where this will go…

Toot's Review

Wow, just wow! This book falls into the billionaire erotica subgenre that's so popular right now but unlike all the other ones that follow the normal formula of billionaire meets lowly average girl and girl eventually brings Billionaire to his knees through the power of her unique normality. This book has two very powerful people and it's all about the power they wield together. Think Crossfire meets Wall street.

So let's start with a bit of a synopsis. Kasey is a Harvard grad, up and coming rising star in her company. She has the perfect life with the perfect boyfriend/fiancé, the perfect family and life couldn't be better or more plain vanilla. Her BFF decides to take her to Vegas to let her hair down and make sure that her current life is what she really wants. She suggests that Kasey sleep with a stranger or at the very least, flirt with one. Kasey, feeling pressured into accepting her boyfriends' forced proposal, she agrees to flirt. While playing Blackjack, she meets a handsome stranger. They spend the night together and Kasey leaves Vegas with a dirty little secret and for once, she feels alive. Thinking Vegas was a onetime thing, she goes to work on Monday like nothing is wrong but then she's informed that her company has a new client, their biggest to date, and the client is crediting her with landing the account. Speechless, Kasey tracks down her boss and finds out the new client is none other than the Vegas stranger.

Kasey now has secrets to hide, hearts to break and decisions to be made. The world of business can be boiled down to a game of chess and her new client has set his sights on her as his new queen. How far would you go for success and power? Would you trash your reputation? Would you sacrifice your dignity? Would you destroy your enemies? What would you give up to make your own rules in your own game?

I'm sure most of you are like me and read to escape reality. I never thought in a million years that an erotic novel would make me think about my own career and give me insight into what possibly is going on behind the scenes. What power plays are happening and how far someone might be willing go to achieve their goals. Don't get me wrong, I'm not naive, I know it happens but damn, this book puts a whole new twist on things. All the games aside, this book is damn sexy as well! Kasey not only has great sex with Robert (the sexy stranger) but the author also delves into the woman's psyche and brings about some crazy fantasies that I know I've had myself on more than one occasion while sitting in meetings or at a bar.

The book itself is broken into 3 parts but if you're like me and live for audio, the audio book consists of all 3 parts. I recommend doing the audio version if you can but if not, make sure you get all 3 parts.

If you want some smart erotica with a billionaire twist, pick this book up.

5 out of 5
