Evangeline is forced to return to Rochambeau and work as a Shampoo girl in her mother’s beauty salon after her ex partner and ex lover sent her restaurant and herself to bankruptcy. After setting foot on a town full of sad and painful memories she thinks she may survive if she doesn’t meet the one that broke her heart 10 years ago…but fate has other plans.
Matt Girard, a Special Forces soldier is back to Rochambeau for his sister’s wedding after one of his missions went wrong. He is relieved from his position while he waits for the ultimate decision of his superiors about his career. Matt expects to deal with the crazy ways of his stepmother, a former stripper, and the demands of his sister about her wedding but what he doesn’t expect is to see Evie, his childhood best friend, and find our that even after all those years there he still feels something special about her.
One would think that feelings would be erased as time passes by but the truth is that Matt´s intesify as soon as he saw a beautiful grown up Evie. He know he needs her but…could he have her in his life again after hurting her soo much? He was her first time and he didn’t value that gift…he bragged about it and then left town and her. Evie still hurts but she still feels electricity inside of her when Matt touches her or is near her. Matt might have been a stupid mistake years ago but he sure as hell knew he needed her in his life anyway he could get.
Matt is prepared for a night full of dance, passionate kisses and maybe something more if gives him another chance…but what he didn’t expect was a crazy guy with a gun or that Evie´s ex partner and members of the organized crime would complicate his plans. Now Evie’s sister is kidnapped, the police thinks Evie and him are murders of her ex partner, Evie´s mother is in a hospital bed with a broken arm, oh and his sisters wedding is a couple of days away. Did I mention he is the bestman? Yeah…nothing to worry about.
Evie is trying to be strong for her sister and Matt is doing wonders to keep them safe while trying to figure out how to save Sarah. He knows that this rescue mission was exactly what his suprior ment when he told him to stay away from trouble but…when would you walk away when you could save a life? Like hell he would. He would do anything he could to help Evie and he would deal with the consequences later but…every second he spends with her just intensify his feelings for until they both realize that maybe lust isnt everything they feel for each other.
Passionate kisses, tender moments and harsh truths were shared but…would that be enough to keep them together after and if they get out of this rescue mission?
