Review : God's Eye by A.J. Scudiere (PNR/UF)

Book Blurb

Katharine Geryon is living the life her family name has dictated, and why not? After all, it has given her a good job in the family company and a fine life with all the things she should want. But all that changes as increasingly disturbing events begin to occur: soot stains on the carpet, glimpses of strange black animals, and cryptic messages written on her bathroom mirror. Baffled and afraid, Katharine begins to doubt her own sanity. At the same time, two charismatic men enter her life: Allistair, her new assistant at work, and Zachary, a well-heeled neighbor who just moved into her building. Katharine soon finds each of them inextricably entangled in her affairs. As her life becomes stranger and her dreams more terrifying, she realizes neither man is what he seems and that she's caught in something far beyond her own comprehension. For the first time, she must reach beyond her own boundaries.

Toot's Review

Caught between two men, her brand new heaven-sent assistant, Allistair and her brand new devilishly handsome boyfriend, Zachary, Katherine has become caught between their struggle to win her heart.......OK, OK, I'll stop with the play on words, LOL.

Seriously! This book is about light and dark, good vs. evil with a touch of whodunit. Our heroine, Katherine, is a pampered princess and company girl. Seeing her company is also the family biz, she is all about the job. She's been born and raised in the company business and expected to take it over one day. Her current job is in research and is anything but exciting until her father tells her about someone stealing money from the company and he wants her to investigate. He also wants her to use her new assistant , Allistair, to help her solve the crime seeing Allistair hasn't been with the company long enough to have been the culprit but the closer they work on the case, the closer their attraction grows. To complicate things further, she also has a brand new boyfriend, her sexy new neighbor, Zachary. Zachary also just came into her life. He's a drop dead sexy lawyer and can't get enough of her.

Now if all that isn't enough for one woman to handle, she's also is having the freakiest things happen to her, lapses in time, weird words showing up on her bathroom mirror while she's showering, creatures breaking into her house and much, much more.

God's Eye is not your normal PNR/UF. The book, even though there's romance elements, is more a morels book that will keep you thinking about your choices long after the book is over. It deals with corporate morals, personal morals, social morals, heaven and hell, true love and the supernatural. It's expertly told from Katherine's POV. When we first meet our heroine, she's a pampered corporate princess but as the story goes on, she completely does a 180 but not without sacrifices and hard choices. No one is safe when your very soul is on the line.

If you love PNR/UF but want something a little deeper with strong values, give God's Eye a try.
