Staring at Nellie's soft pink lips as he tried to catch his breath Abel spoke again trying to calm the yearning he was feeling already. “We’re meeting with the director of PR in charge of this whole thing in a couple of weeks. You think you can be there?”

She nodded as she too obviously struggled to catch her breath. Unable to hold back anymore he placed his hand on her thigh thankful that he’d gotten to her house before she’d changed out of her sexy as sh*t skirt suit. His fingers found their way under her skirt and caressed the soft warm inner thigh.

Feeling her quiver made him smile. “What day?” she asked.

“Pretty sure Noah said a week from next Friday after closing,” his lips were on hers again as soon as she nodded.

She pulled away mid kiss and thought about it for a second. “If that's Friday the 13th I can't. I have plans that night.”

Abel’s hand froze on her thigh and he stared at her for a moment not sure if he should ask but he sure as hell wanted to. “Oh?”

“Yeah,” she said nodding, her eyes rushing from his lips to his eyes. “If it were any other night I could but that’s the only night I can’t. Will you be meeting again with him another time?”

Abel continued to stare at her hoping she’d shed a little light on what those plans were exactly. When she didn’t he pulled away from her slowly. “I don’t know,” he said trying to keep his tone as normal as possible. “Probably, but it’d be best if you were in on everything from here on since it's getting down to the wire.” He reached for his drink not wanting to have eye contact with her when he asked his next question. “Any chance you can get out of your plans?”

He turned to her when she didn’t answer immediately. She was frowning then inhaled thinking about it. “I don’t think so. It’s a concert and the tickets have already been paid for.”

He swallowed down a bigger drink than he had originally planned, Maybe she was going with a girlfriend. “Oh, yeah? Who you gonna go see?”

She smiled suddenly.“Slightly Stoopid at the House of Blues.”

Feeling the slightest bit of relief and not really understanding why he remembered Noah mentioning that Roni wanted to go see them too but… “I thought Noah said they were sold out.”

“They were,” she said taking a sip of her water this time. “At least when me and Roni tried getting tickets they were. Somehow a co-worker of mine was able to get tickets.”

Just moments ago Abel thought he might need another drink maybe two. Now he was overcome with the urge to kiss her again. “That’s cool,” he said leaning into her again. “I know Roni really likes them.” With that his mouth was on hers and his fingers once again making their way up her thigh under her skirt he murmured against her lips. “Ever had sex in public, Nellie?” The thought of taking her right there already driving him to the brink of madness.

“No!” She gasped pulling away.

“Shhh! It's okay,” he whispered laughing softly. His hand moved further up in between her legs. Technically they’d been in a public place on the cruise but they were behind a closed door. Even though this was a private booth they were still in a public restaurant. He understood her apprehension so he wouldn’t push her. “We don’t have to do that. But you said this was exciting on the cruise.”

“It was,” she said breathlessly. “But—”

“We won’t go there. Trust me,” he whispered quickly then pulled away to look her in the eyes. “You trust me?”

She nodded licking her lips and he dove in again. He kissed her hungrily feeling her moan in his mouth as he gently pushed her thighs apart.

Character QA

Hi Abel,

Thank you so much for stopping by Toot's Book Reviews and congratulations on having your story put to paper.

If you don't mind, may I ask you a few questions for your current and soon-to-be fans?

As you'll find out in my book. I'm not crazy about doing interviews but I'll make an exception for book blogs. ;)

Book....

In your own words, tell us a bit about your book?

It's about me and my "friend' Nellie, my upcoming heavyweight fight, and finding out that maybe I'm not cut out for the "friends with benefits" thing. At least not this time—not with Nellie.

How did you feel knowing you were getting your own book?

I sort of knew it was coming but I thought the focus would be on my fight. It's a pretty big deal. I'm fighting for the BIG title. Boy was I wrong.

Have you read it or was living it good enough?

Living it was far more than enough and there are parts I wouldn't want to EVER relive again!

What is your favorite scene in the book?

There are LOTS of exciting and "mind blowing" scenes it's hard to choose. But I'd say any of the scenes where I was enjoying my time with Nellie were my favorites.

What's your least favorite scene?

The one where I broke down. Absolute worst moment in my life... I'd rather not revisit if you don't mind.

Career.....

How long have you been fighting?

Since I was a young teen.

Can you tell us about one of your most memorable Boxing matches?

It's usually when I'm delivering the knockout punch but if we're gonna go with the most pleasurable I'd have to say it was one that happened outside the ring. You get to witness it in my book. I have to say by far my most satisfying knockout to date!

Did you win?

Always *Slow grin.* However in the book there was a slight twist... you'll have to read.

How did you prepare for the big fight in the book?

I have my trainers riding me pretty hard. And Noah that guy is a stickler but I do appreciate his efforts. One thing I know for sure is you MUST stay focused. Kind of hard when your mind is on someone else.

Any suggestions for would-be fighters?

Train hard. Keep at it. Stay focused and never give up.

Personal.....

Tell us about your lady love?

She's everything I could ever ask for. Absolute perfection.

How long have you two known each other?

For years but not closely and intimately until the last several months.

What's your favorite thing about her?

How complete my life feels with her in it.

(I don't want you in trouble, so I won't ask what your least favorite is.)

If she was Ice Cream, what would her flavor be?

I'd say something really sweet and romantically cheesy but the guys would never let me live it down so I'll just say she's some kind of mouthwatering sherbet . The kind I could eat ALL day. ;)

What would be your perfect date for the two of you?

A day holed up in my bedroom just the two of us and no interruptions. And then maybe ordering in.

What do you do to unwind and relax?

Hang with Nellie and when she's not around hang with my boys.

A few random questions....

Favorite Movie:

Tombstone. "I'll be your Huckelberry." ;)

Favorite Song:

For Nellie, Just the way you are.

Favorite Quote:

It didn't used to be before this book but now that I know EXACTLY what he meant, Jacks quote "The heart is forever inexperienced."

Favorite Food:

My moms fideo

Favorite Color:

Black

Lastly, what are 5 things fans don't know about you or the book?

It's not just about passion. It's a true love story.

While the teasers have all mainly given hints about the steam in the story there is also an entire other element going on. A major twist! ;)

There are several revelations .

Expect more than one pleasant surprise.

It's NOT the last you've seen of the 5th Street boys!

Abel, I can't thank you enough for stopping by. You are the bomb!!!

Thanks for having me! And thanks for making this for painless. =D

Now everyone GO BUY THIS BOOK!!!!
