This is a book in the Chaos Motorcycle gang series by
Kristen Ashley. This story is Hopper’s
story with Lanie. Lanie is an Ad
executive for her own agency and her best friend is married to the leader of
the Chaos. Lanie is a piece of work and
has issues. She was shot by the Russian
Mob when her fiancé got mixed up with them.
She watched him die and almost killed herself. She is completely messed up in the head and
doesn’t want a relationship. So she
offers Hop one night with no strings attached.
Hop is second in command and a good guy, she trusts him to keep it
between them. Hop refuses at first
because it is complicated, not as simple as she offers. He eventually gives in and he was right. It got complicated fast. Lanie has issues that not only stem from the
night she was shot but also from her parents’ relationship. She is also
carrying around guilt for getting her best friend kidnapped and stabbed
multiple times. In other words, she is a
mess mentally and that makes it and up and down ride for Hop.
It was an interesting journey. I really liked the Hop character. He was completely different from what you
expected a biker to be. I, personally,
had a difficult time getting into the beginning with all the biker speak. I was having a bit of trouble understanding
what the point was that he was trying to get across. However as the book progressed, I got used to
it and found it endearing to Hop’s character.
The relationship that was developed between the two characters was
passionate and full of drama. It was fun
to watch.
