He's Out of Control
Dougal Kincaid has something to prove. After being injured in a battle with the Malcontents, he's ready for active duty protecting unsuspecting mortals from these villainous vampires who want to rule the world. But first he has to get control of himself . . . because just the sight of a certain lovely doctor has his injured hand doing some peculiar things, not to mention the sizzling sensation that burns along his dragon tattoo.
Vampires? Vampires?! As a scientist, Leah is having trouble believing that these immortal creatures exist. But there they are, standing in front of her, asking for help in solving a genetic puzzle that can save mankind. There's even one in a sexy kilt! Just one look into Dougal's gorgeous green eyes sets her pulse racing. But can she trust him—and the overwhelming desire that refuses to be ignored?

Toot's Review
Kerrilyn Sparks does it again with this newest addition to
her widely popular vampire series. This book is the story of Dougal. Poor
Dougal is happy for all his friends and their new found couple-dom but the loss
of his hand and the ancient ache in his heart are making him a bit surly. If
you’re a fan of the series and are not sure who Dougal is, he’s the vamp that
lost his hand in one of the battles earlier in the series and was sent to be
security for Jack in Texas. He’s now been transferred back to Romatech and is
surlier than ever. Why is Dougal so surly? Well, he’s lonely and he still
hasn’t gotten use to his new metal appendage.
His friends have noticed and want to help but what they don’t know is
that his location and vocation can change but his heart can never be mended……or
can it?
Before Dougal became a vamp, he had been in love but
unfortunately, like all tragic love stories, she died. He vowed to find her
again, either in this life or the next. He has remained faithful to her, always
knowing they would find each other again but the wait has been excruciating for
him.
Leah is a wiz at genetics and has been recruited to help
solve a mystery at Romatech industries, which is all wonderful except for the
fact that they are trying to convince her they’re all vampires. There are also
cameras that follow her every move. What the heck has she gotten herself into?
The story itself is a fun one and is right up the same alley
as the rest of the series. Just like her previous books, this story has heart
and soul along with some light-hearted humor.
Dougal is a wonderful character and is such a tortured hero that your
heart just breaks for him. Leah on the other hand, I found to be a bit annoying
and wishy-washy. I liked the premise of her character but when push came to
shove, she broke down and became a weepy woman whom couldn’t cope. Her
acceptance of circumstances tended to drag on way to long and rather than buck
up, she buckled until the decisions were taken out of her hands but when she
was strong, I did like her.
Other than Leah, I loved the rest of the story. The world
Kerrilyn has built is always fun to visit and have a Bleer or two. New and old
fans won’t be disappointed in this most recent addition.
