About the Series : In this powerful and emotional love story, a young woman in a new city finds herself torn between her handsome, reliable boyfriend and a sexy local rock star.
For almost two years now, Kiera’s boyfriend, Denny, has been everything she’s ever wanted: loving, tender, and endlessly devoted to her. When they head off to a new city to start their lives together—Denny at his dream job and Kiera at a top-notch university—everything seems perfect. Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple apart. Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source—a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. At first, he’s purely a friend she can lean on, but as her loneliness grows, so does their relationship. And then one night everything changes . . . and none of them will ever be the same.
After being caught in the middle of a love triangle which led to a devastating betrayal, Kiera pledged to learn from the mistakes she’d made. She was determined to never again inflict that kind of pain on anyone, especially the soulful, talented man who held her heart. But life offers new challenges for every relationship, and when Kiera’s love is put to the ultimate test, will it survive? Love is easy . . . trust is hard.
Can love survive when life gets Reckless?
When the band hits it big, Kiera and Kellan must ask themselves: Can their love for each other withstand the constant pressures of superstardom? The friendships they’ve formed, the new family they’ve found, and the history they’ve forged will all play a part in helping them navigate the turbulent waters of the band’s exploding popularity. A greedy executive hell-bent on success, a declining pop star looking for an edge, and a media circus that twists lies into truths are just some of the obstacles the lovers will have to overcome if they are going to remain together. Fame comes with a price—but will it cost Kiera and Kellan everything?
Toot's Review
Thoughtless, Effortless, Reckless is a NA series about
infidelity, friendship, family and true love. The basic premise is a young girl, Kiera, from Middle America, follows her boyfriend, Denny, to Seattle, WA to continue her college
education while her boyfriend begins his career life after graduation. As far
as the lovebirds know, their life is on the “perfect life” path. He starts his
career, she finishes college, they’ll get married eventually, kids, the whole
nine yards. In the meantime, they need a place to stay and so Denny contacts an
old friend of his, Kellen, a lead singer in an up and coming rock band called the D-Bags *get it*. Kellen
happens to have a room at his home for rent and offers it to the couple, whom
eagerly accept. Shortly after they settle in, life starts to move forward. Kiara
gets a job and starts school while Denny starts his new job. Both of their
futures are looking bright but unfortunately fate has another idea. Denny is
such a success at his new job that he’s offered another opportunity in another
state that he can’t pass up. It’s only for 3 months but Kiara can’t follow and
has to stay behind. While she is missing Denny, Kellen is there to pick up the
pieces and offer comfort to his new friend. What starts as innocent friendship,
then flirtation, soon turns into scorching passion, betrayal and heartbreak.
As the series continues, the three would be friends have
decisions to make, hearts to break and paths to choose and no, this is not a ménage
story, LOL.
With all the skirted innuendos and my witty attempts to not
spoil too much for you, I did really enjoy this series although let me preface the whole series and tell you that when we first meet the characters, they are
young, immature and totally naive. I would even go as far as to say that the
heroine in the first book is completely insipid. You honestly want to throttle
her. The men come off as genuine and she is totally unworthy of either of them
but like any good series, she grows as does the guys. I will also tell you,
this is one of those book series, that the author walks you through every
single little detail of the characters lives. The whole series takes place over
about two years, so you get very familiar with their day in and day out, ups
and downs. It’s all done from the heroines POV, so yeah, the first book is a
little rough to get through and the second, to be honest but the third book
totally makes up for it. I honestly loved the third book. The characters grow
over the series and the third book is just the natural conclusion. All the
mistakes are learned from and the relationships grow. If you’re up for some
really long stories about college kids making bad decisions, rock stars,
fame, fortune, friendships and yep, fate. Give this trilogy a try. The story is strong, so is the world building and characters. I think you'll love it!
