Kallypso Master's Sightseeing Tour of San Diego for her book Nobody's Perfect (#4) - Damian's Story - (RESCUE ME #4)

Hey Everyone! So yesterday, 5/13/13, I had the absolute honor of joining the fabulous author of the popular erotic romance series Rescue Me - Kallypso Masters on a sightseeing tour of San Diego and Laguna Beach. Kally's book Nobody's Perfect : Damian's Story - (RESCUE ME #4) main character Damian is from the area and much of the book's events take place in the area. Kally put together a sightseeing tour for fans, so that they could add to their experience with the book. We spent the entire day going from site to site with Kally while she talked about the inspirations for the sites, how it added to the book and characters, how she did research and much, much more.

As we were her inaugrial tour group or affectionately called her "Beta Riders". She graciously gave us tour shirts from her book Nobody's Angel (RESCUE ME #2), that we proudly wore all day. We got giddy thrills from wearing such naughty shirts all over town but it made me realize that not many people care what you wear or bother to even read your shirt. What caught most people's attention was a group wearing red, LOL. They would ask why we all had the same shirt and what the tour was about. It wasn't till one of us explained and they read the shirt, that their blush would start. It was so much fun!

The Tour

If you've read the book, you'll know that the first stop on the tour had to absolutely be the breathtakingly beautiful La Valencia Hotel in downtown La Jolla, CA. Currently it's under construction but we met up with the concierge and he gave us a little tour of what we could see. We saw a few of the locations that were mentioned in the book. Below are pictures of the hotel balcony, the hotel lobby and an exterior shot of all the ladies on the tour and in the rear is the balcony again.

Next stop was Eden Gardens a small community in Solana Beach, CA. It's where the hero, Damian, grew up and it also became a refuge for the heroine, Savannah as well. Below is a photo of what Kally imagined for the house Damian grew up in.

Next we made our way towards Laguna Beach and stopped in the downtown area for lunch. It didn't have any special significance to the book but was a fun little area to do some shopping. We even found Kally's namesake cafe called Calypso Cafe but....
We ended up having lunch at Nick's, it definately was great food with some even better company

Last stop on the visual tour was Thousand Steps Beach. For those that have read the story, you'll know that this is a very important location for the hero and heroine in the beginning of the book and also at the end. Not only just the long trek down and up the stairs (not 1000 but 218, we counted) but also the hidden gem of a cave, that is easily accessible from the beach at the bottom.

And the Pièce de résistance
The Cave!
Unfortunately it was high tide but we made it work and had a blast getting wet
^ That's Kally getting as close as she could to her cave
She's already planning on going back during low tide

Lastly, Kally took us out to dinner as Su Casa, we drank, ate, and genuinely had a blast. It was a wonderful wrap up and goodbye to a wonderful day. Kally also gave out door prizes and I personally won a Beaded Evil Stick *evil movie cackle*

Thanks to all the ladies and especially to Kally!
It's a day I'll never forget
