Toot's Review

Bound with Pearls is a mild to moderate CR/BDSM romance. The story is basically a CR with the bedroom and  club play more BDSM. 

So with that being said, here's my little synopsis. Our heroine, Chris, short for Christine has always had a nurturing, submissive personality and since the death of her mother, has also taken over the mothering role for her spoiled brat of a little sister, Lucy. Lucy is completely egotistic and/or narcissistic. When Lucy's boyfriend looses a "Masters"poker game and has to make Lucy available for a night to another man, Lucy begs her sister Chris to go in her stead. Chris flat out refuses but when Lucy sweetens the deal with her dead mother's strand of pearls, Chris agrees. Chris knows that sometimes BDSM isn't about sex and is willing to be the plaything of a man she doesn't know, for one night, to get back something that is so precious to her but when she meets him, she is immediately captivated by him. They end up having a very strong connection and easily fall out of the one night game and into something way more serious.

As far as romances go, I found the characters strong although I did want to shake Chris when she was dealing with Lucy and say "nut up woman"! But other then that, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Like I said the characters were strong, the romance and sex was hot and fit the story naturally. What I found refreshing was that even though it was Dom/Sub play, there was still natural open communication between the characters during their play. Sometimes when I'm reading these types of books, the sex between two characters is unnaturally smooth, everything works properly and no one has any issues but that's definately not how it works in real life and I appreciated the author showing that flubs happen and even though you might be submissive, you can talk back and stand up for yourself like any normal person would in those circumstances. All I'm saying is that, for a BDSM romance, I found this book refreshing, playful and natural.
I'd recommend it!
