Gotta make this beautiful cover big, LOL!!
Book Blurb
Deep
within the Yucatan jungle, a demon has awakened...
Gretchen
Finch’s job would be much easier if she weren’t alone in the jungle with a
brilliant recluse whose every glance sets her on fire. But the more she focuses
on her work, the closer she gets to unlocking the mysteries of a terrible
creature—the Night Demon—that threatens the world as she knows it. Though her
scientific mind tells her it’s impossible, she’s beginning to believe the
ancient Mayan tales as the sinister jungle comes alive around her.
Lukas
Smith has spent hundreds of years searching for answers to his immortal Night
Walker nature. As a series of ancient glyphs become clear, he’s about to find
out more than he’d ever hoped, but the more he learns, the more his fate
intertwines with the Night Demon, and the harder it becomes to hide his
immortal secret from the beautiful, intelligent Gretchen.
Together, they must find a way to stop the inexplicable
violence and mass destruction surging across the earth before the Night Demon
destroys more than just mankind.

Hi –
Thanks for having me visit the fabulous Toot’s Book Review
Blog!
I’m really excited that the latest installment in my Night
Series, Night Demon, has just
released, and I’m often asked about researching for the book. Much of Night Demon takes place in the
Yucatan jungles of Mexico, and the Mayan history figures prominently into my
Night Walker beings.
I was lucky enough to travel to Cancun and tour 3 different
Mayan ruin sites with a Mayan guide. The weather was a shock to the system for
me and my kids. We’re all San Diego natives, which means we’re wimps when it comes to the
weather. I pull on a parka when the temperature dips below 65 degrees, and I
wilt when the humidity creeps up.
So imagine my horror when I took a research trip to Chichen Itza
in the middle of the Yucatan rainforest in July. Yikes!!! LOL
We’d never experienced that kind of heat and humidity before.
My son was small then and at one point as we were leaving the
Mayan ruins at Tulum and returning to the bus, he tried to run and catch up
with his sister, but his legs wouldn’t cooperate. He whined, “Mama, I can’t
run... I can’t live!” LOL
Thankfully we did live, and with my pile of notes and photos, I
had everything I needed to bring the setting and the immortals for my Night
Series to life. As scientists translate more of the Maya glyphs, we learn more
and more about the Mayan culture, but the reason behind their disappearance is
still up for debate.
I took that unsolved mystery and gave it a paranormal twist that I
hope readers will enjoy.
Night Demon just
released this month. It’s the sequel to Night Walker, and blows the Night
Walker world and their history wide open… J

Toot's Review
Night Demon is Lisa's 3rd book in her Night Walker series and boy is this book a game changer for her characters. But before I go into that, let me give you a bit of a synopsis. Just in case you didn't know, Night Demon is the story of Lukas. If you are a fan of the series but are not sure who Lukas is, let me shed some light on him for you. If you've read the first Night Walker book, he's the man that got bit by a snake and while Calisto was trying to heal him, he accidentally turned into a Night Walker.
Lukas has never wanted to be a Night Walker and has searched his whole existence for a way to either find a cure or end his own existence. Due to his pursuit or obsession to find answers, he's become an archaeologist and is living as almost a recluse in an ancient Mayan jungle with a very sexy assistant, Gretchen Finch. Unbeknownst to either of them, they both have strong feelings for the other but are happy just being co-workers while pining from afar. Working day and night translating ruins, they have found what they believe to be the answers that Lukas is looking for but at the same time, an evil Demon has been awakened and now the entire Human and Night Walker world is in peril and only the information they have uncovered can save everyone.
If you're a fan of the series, this book is a great addition to the exciting world of the Night Walkers. This book answers a lot of questions that came up in the first Night Walker book about their history, the 4 Gods, all the main characters as well as the new ones. It also reunites the main characters from the first two. I personally love when authors bring characters together for reunions and this one doesn't disappoint. Calisto and Kate are back as well as Kane and Rita.
The hero and heroine have great chemistry that slowly builds over the course of the book. The book has lots of different story elements going on, so you never get bored. There's lots of romance and some very steamy scenes. And of course, there's the baddie. She is definitely a very unique character that will give you shivers and I guarantee you'll absolutely fall in love with her mate. He is truly a tortured soul and just breaks my heart. As you can tell, I really loved all the different elements of the story itself including all the twists and turns. I kept trying to guess at what was going to happen and never got it right! All in all, if you love Mayans, Shapeshifters, Vamps, gore and a HEA......you'll enjoy this read!
