Kat is a make-up artist working on a video shoot for the band Bad Habit. It has been rescheduled more than once and she is surprised to be working on Avery Kane. Then when lead singer Nico Nyx walks in Kat’s life is about to change. Avery is unable to do the shoot and Nico chooses Kat to fill in.
She had an instant attraction to Nico but is not going there. He is a superstar and she knew better. He tries to sway her but she continually tells him no. He keeps trying. Grace, one of Kat’s friends, believes he will keep at it because he doesn’t hear the word no.
Nico proves that he feels more for Kat, but he has to earn her trust. He is willing to do so. Kat takes a leap of faith and enters into a relationship. Both have a lot of baggage from their pasts and don’t know how to open up to each other. Nico’s life starts getting in the way. Avery causes problems and when Kat learns the truth, she is shocked. When Nico’s brother, Michael comes to town, he causes more problems. He has such hatred for Kat. Nico Panics and refuses to let Kat out of his sight. Kat doesn’t believe she is in as much danger as Nico fears. However everything blows up in her face and she has to sacrifice everything.
I loved this book. It drew me in immediately with Kat’s sassiness. She was a great character. She stood up for herself and refused to let Nico bully her. Their attraction was instant and strong. She reacted like she should have. It was fun to read how Nico convinced her.
The sex scenes were hot! The author wrote them well. Nothing like fanning yourself. They were explosive and then tender. The main characters were perfect for each other and I rooted for them.
The author created a fabulous story between two damaged people, one just happened to be a rock star. Nico’s secrets were huge and shocking. Kat’s were tragic and sad. Her guilt staying with her. However Nico wins hands down when it comes to troubled pasts. It made for an excellent story and deep love affair. This story was awesome. I give it a 5 out of 5.
