Nina works for the Blood Ops department of government. She is half vampire and half human. She lost her parents when she was little and she grew up on the Blood ops compound in Nevada. She is now home in Providence, RI helping her aunt with their bar. When her mother was killed, Nina became part owner. One night while working in the bar she is confronted by another vampire, Marcello. She is saved by an FBI agent, Max, who happened to be in the bar. Nina has to turn to her team in order to figure why Marcello is after her.
When her team arrives, secrets start coming out. Nina learns more about her family and herself. Things get complicated when Max learns the truth and a demon joins the fun.Nina, along with her team and a possessing ghost of a witch, have to plan the battle of her life that brings the past to the present.
This book is full of action and paranormal creatures. Witches, ghosts, demons, vampires, banshees, among others were brought to the forefront by the author. The story was jam packed full of secrets, fight scenes and great characters. Nina is a great fighter who has no clue who she really is. You felt for her as secrets came out and her shocking past was revealed. She had a goal and had to use every resource she had to be victorious against the enemy. Of course no thing ever goes as planned and there are a few surprises sprinkled through out that the reader doesn’t expect. This is a great read and I give it a 4 out of 5
