New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julie Ann Walker continues her red-hot Black Knights Inc. series in rough-and-tumble Peru
"The Man" is back
Dan "The Man" Currington is back in fighting form with a mission that takes him four thousand miles south of BKI headquarters, high in the Andes Mountains of Peru. He's hot on the trail of a rogue CIA agent selling classified government secrets to the highest bidder, when Penni DePaul arrives on the scene. Suddenly the stakes are higher, and keeping Penni safe becomes Dan's number one priority.
And this time she's ready
A lot has changed since former Secret Service Agent Penni DePaul last saw Dan. Now a civilian, she's excited about what the future might hold. But before she can grab onto that future with both hands, she has to tie up some loose ends-namely, Dan Currington, the man she just can't forget. And a secret that's going to change both their lives-if they can stay alive, that is.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala
Penni DePaul has changed her life drastically after she was the sole survivor from her detail team in the Secret Service. She has left the Secret Service and decided that she is going to act on the feelings she has for Dan.
She flies to Chicago and enters the Black Knight Inc asking to talk to Dan the Man. Unfortunately Dan has been in Peru looking for Winterfield, the traitor that has started it all. He has been gone for three months with Zoelner. The Knights, believing she will be safe, send her to Peru.
Dan is shocked to see the woman he has been thinking about for the last three months in Peru. However things heat up when they spot a suspicious man. They learn their mark is set to meet with a terrorist. Penni gets pulled into the mission. She puts the talk she needs to have with Dan on hold as the missions plays out.
However Penni learns about Dan’s past and she is shocked and devastated. She believes he can’t really love her the way she loves him. With the death of his wife, he can’t possibly. She realizes she is the rebound. She dreads having the talk with him she originally needed to. She is unsure where to go from here.
This is the next addition to the Black Knights Series. I love the series and have read several books from this author. Dan has been a character we meet in previous books. He has a sad past two years to deal with and his fellow Knights are fighting to keep him together.
He and Penni meet in the previous book and have a hot affair then go their separate ways. This is where the book picks up. I like how they act with each other once they are together in Peru. The author gave them quite the attraction and connection. The sex scenes are hot and full of passion. The stubbornness that Penni shows at the end is frustrating. I didn’t like that part of the story. It almost border lined on the ridiculous as her tantrum lasted. It almost ruined the whole thing for me. With that said I still give it a 4 out of 5.
