Insta-lust ensues. 3 1/2 stars for a basic PNR story with world building.

Review - Book 2 – Luca’s Magic Embrace – Vampire/Witch based PNR. I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first one probably because I didn’t care for the characters as much. Vampire, Luca, is second in command to Kade in book 1 but very much an alpha male in his own right. Heroine, Samantha, is a reluctant witch. Luca is kidnapped, rescued, Sam is on the run, Luca pursues to “protect her”, baddies pursue, insta-lust ensues. 3 stars for another basic PNR.

Review - Book 3 – Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves – Werewolf based PNR. I think I like her shifters waaaayyyy more than the vamps! Hero, Tristan, is the werewolf alpha we met in book 1 who was “friends with benefits” to our heroine Sydney. He’s the total package with all that we love in our PNR werewolf alphas. Heroine, Kalli, is a brilliant scientist and is hiding a secret that will get people killed.
Nice simple mystery, danger and build up for the next few shifter books. This one is probably my favorite so far out of the series from books 1-3. I would even say you could even start with this book as an intro to the world, if you wanted to skip the vamps entirely - 4 stars.

Review - Book 4 – Logan’s Acadian Wolves – Werewolf/Human Hybrid based PNR. Continuing to love the shifters books! Hero, Logan, was beta to Tristan in book 3 but through a tragic twist of fate has become alpha to a new pack. Heroine, Wynter, is a virologist (Virus Scientist) who was duped into working for the baddies. One night she escapes and the two cross paths. Logan knows that Wynter is his mate and will do anything to keep her safe, seeing as how he had a premonition of her dying. It’s a race against time while they figure out who all the baddies are and stop a deadly virus from killing shifters and hybrids alike.
Definitely a better, more well-rounded story than the previous books. Kym is showing that she’s more comfortable in this world now and there are more of the elements of what we love with PNR books (i.e. mystery, strong characters, sexy, sexy, sexy) – 4 stars.

Review - Book 5 – Leopold’s Wicked Embrace – Vampire/Supernatural based PNR. We’re back to the vamps but Leo’s story is based in both worlds due to his ties more to the shifters. Leo is an ancient vampire who came to the shifters’ rescue in book 4. He’s become closed off to all the feels of the world due to his age and his history until he crosses paths with a new born baby who was being pursued by a pack of angry wolves. To help protect his new charge, Leo calls on his shifter buddies and goes in search of answers when he crosses paths with the heroine, Laryssa, who knows who and what the baby is and why they are after her. More mystery and baddies ensue as well as having an huge event that changes everything and everyone for the next few books. A must read for fans of the series – 4 ½ stars.

Review - Book 6 – Dimitri – Werewolf/Shifter Hybrid based PNR. Definitely my favorite book so far by far. Dimitri is Logan’s beta from Book 4. He’s a Cajun werewolf through and through with the heart and strength of an alpha but loves his pack too much to try to become more. He knows where he’s most needed. He’s the ultimate hero who is all about self sacrifice and even followed his friend into hell itself to save a baby and heroine from previous books. After coming back from hell, he’s realized something evil has attached itself to him like a parasite and he must take a hiatus from his pack to sort himself out before he becomes a danger to them. While on his vaca, he is attacked and eventually saved by the heroine, Gillian, who is on the run herself. Gillian is being pursued by a pack of werewolves who’s alpha wants to force a mating on her because of who and what she is. As the two continue to save and protect each other, the draw to mate becomes unbearable but if they mate, something precious might die. Can the two hold off long enough in order to find a way to save everyone?
FREAKIN’ LOVED IT!!! Strong sexy hero, strong sexy heroine and surprises at every turn - 5 stars.

Review - Book 6.5 Lost Embrace – Vampire PNR. Novella with the characters from book 1. It was meh for me. Loved revisiting the world and seeing what was going on with the vamp side of things but after being on the shifter side for so long it didn’t draw me in. Hero, Kade, is in turmoil. He had to turn Sydney into a vamp against her will to save her and she’s not handling it well. Their relationship is rocky at best and Sydney is at the end of her rope. Being a baby vamp, she has to learn how to feed from humans and it’s not going so well. As the two navigate this new twist in their world, can their relationship survive and how far will Kade go to make it right with his fiancé?
I didn’t particularly like seeing Sydney go from a strong heroine to a weak willed one. She kinda got on my nerves and so did Kade. I don’t know, I honestly see Leo from book 5 as more of an alpha of the vamps then Kade. He’s just not that scary to me but I digress. Its fine for a taste of the series but it just felt outta sync for me with where book 6 left us – 3 stars.
