Book Blurb

A fight he must win...

Piper Oliver knows she can't trust him. They warned her that the tall, dark, and sexy black-ops soldier Jory Dean would try to win her over with his steel-gray eyes and deadly charm, but she won't be conned by this man they call a traitor. All she has to do is figure out the science necessary to save his life, and she's done. Something isn't adding up, though, and she won't rest until she uncovers the truth-even if it's buried in his deep, dangerous kiss.

A passion she can't resist...

Jory will do anything to reunite with and save his brothers-even kidnap the gorgeous woman who's working to deactivate the deadly chip in their spines. But the forces determined to destroy his family won't let them go so easily. Keeping Piper alive is more than he bargained for-and so is his burning desire for her. But with every second bringing him closer to certain death, can he afford to lose himself in her hot and willing embrace?

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Jory Dean was shot and then in a coma for two years. He has been locked in a cell in a compound for three months. He has healed and worked on keeping his full abilities hidden from the Commander and Dr. Madison. The race is on to disengage the chips at the spines of the Dean Brothers. Jory has made it his mission to save his brothers. His chip was damaged and he knows it can’t be fixed. He is prepared to die in a week’s time but he is determined that his bothers will live.

Piper has been brought in to save Jory’s life by trying to fix his broken chip. She is a computer programmer and needs to reach the chip and fix any malfunction to disable it. She is also the Commander’s daughter. Jory is instantly intrigued. He even feels bad because he is going to use her to escape.

Piper doesn’t trust a trader and that is what Jory is. Her father has told her how Jory gave secrets to the Russians. She wants to do her job saving Jory and prove herself useful so her father will be proud.

When Jory escapes, taking her with him, she is livid. Jory tells her things and she refuses to believe any of it. Her father warned her. Yet some of what Jory says starts making sense. She starts to question if the Commander told her the truth. Some things are suspicious.

Jory is determined to protect her as his feelings for her grow. He has limited time left but he wants to make memories and Piper definitely fits into them. It is a race against time to save his brothers and a chess game against the Commander as Piper is pulled deeper into that world. All hell breaks loose as the Commander comes after the Dean Brothers.

I loved this series. I have read every book so far and loved all the brothers. They are ideal Alpha males that protect what is theirs and are profusely loyal to each other.

The book about Jory was full of action and battles. The manipulation the Commander conducted made him the ideal villain. His obsession with the four brothers made a fascinating storyline. He would go to such incredible lengths to recapture them. The author did a fabulous job creating a heartless man that did anything to further his agenda, even use his own daughter.

The story was the edge of your seat thriller with the reader rooting for the good guys, aka the Dean Brothers, all the way. I hope the author keeps the story going. I want to see more of this cast of characters. I give this book a 4 out of 5.
