Toot's Review

To Hard To Handle by Julie Ann Walker is the newest installment in her Black Knights Inc. series. It's the story of Dan “The Man” Currington and Penelope Ann DePaul, who we previously met in another book. In the previous book, The two were on assignment in a collaborative op between the secret service and BKI when things exploded. The chemistry was undeniable but when things became FUBAR, the two were separated by duty but never forgot their night of passion.
Skip forward 3 months. Penni has decided to track Dan down to see if they can have a future together and can rekindle some of that fire. She has so much faith and hope that she’s upended her life to find him but when she lands on BKI’s front porch, she finds out that he's on a mission and will be gone for months! She is determined to talk to him and decide their future, so she travels clear across the world, into a dangerous op and risks everything for love. Here comes Penni, Dan “The Man”!
When I first started this series, I wasn't sure I could handle more MC books but what I didn't realize is that just like BKI, the MC genre is a front. These books are more ex-military turned black ops with tons of character and story building. Each is its own HEA and can be read as a standalone or in series order. They are fun, full of adrenaline and romance. The characters are all well rounded and flushed out and Hard To Handle is no exception.
I loved this story and was eager to read more of these two characters. They sizzled in the previous book and I was so happy they got their HEA although it was a tough road and Dan had some soul searching to do but as with most romances, it all worked out in the end. I wish I could tell you more but if I do, I'll spoil the whole thing. Just know Penni has a secret, Dan is a recent widower and they both need to work their crap out before they can build a future. That is if the lusty attraction that draws them together like magnets would chill for a bit.
Love, love, loved it!
