Adopted a few weeks after birth, Ivy Morales suspects that she might not be totally human. Fully aware that one whisper of such insanity would land her in a mental institution, she keeps the outlandish thought to herself. But there's no ignoring the increasingly vivid and stunningly powerful dreams of an ancient blood feud that plague her nightly—or the darkly erotic turn those dreams have recently taken.
Drawn to Mexico for Spring Break, Ivy unwittingly stumbles right into the path of the same evil presence from her mysterious dreams. Kidnapped and held hostage, she has only one chance to survive. She reaches out to the wickedly sexy man from her dreams and prays he'll answer her call for help.
Welsh dragon shifter Ian Madoc struggles to understand the strange dream connection he shares with this unknown woman. In all his centuries of life, he's never experienced anything like it—and it unsettles him. When the dreams turn to pleas for help, Mad rushes off in the middle of the night, hell-bent on saving the young woman he fears may be his mate.
But rescuing Ivy from the clutches of the Knights is only the beginning of Mad's problems. When Ivy's true identity is revealed, old secrets and a close friend's betrayal put him at odds with the rest of the Brotherhood. Protecting the dragon species is no longer his top priority. He'll do anything to keep Ivy safe, even if it means walking away from the only life he's ever known.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala
Ivy Morales is being held captive in Mexico. She was kidnapped while she was on a trip for Spring break. She has to be strong as this creepy woman dressed in a black robe tries to invade her mind looking for information. She is giving up hope of being found when she is confronted with by a shadowy man. He comes to her in a dream world and takes her to the man who will save her.
Ian Maddoc is a member of the Brotherhood. His job is to protect his fellow dragons from the knights and humans. He can smell the mystery woman that appears to him but he can’t see her. He has a strong feeling she is his mate. Ivy can connect with Mad in this strange dream world trying to get his help. She needs to be rescued as her strength wanes.
Ian finally gets her message of where she is. He is determined to save his mate. The only way to protect her when he arrives in Mexico is to get captured himself and wait to be rescued by his brothers, whom he left information for. However something must have gone wrong. Mad and Ivy are trapped in the prison at the mercy of the seer and the knights. They are trying to force the bonding. Mad refuses to give in. He wants it to be up to Ivy when she is ready. Once they escape the true battle begins.
I like the Dragon Heat series. Dragon shifters fascinate me and are one of my favorites. I love the power they have and the fierceness the author gives them. The storyline for this series is compelling. The dragons are trying to save their species and bond with their mates. In this book Mad comes across his mate and saves her. Sigh! She is special and needs protecting. He fights his nature and his enemies to protect her. Double Sigh!
It was interesting to read how they found each other and what they had to endure. Ivy is a strong likable character. Mad is an elder but fair and sensitive to Ivy’s needs and peace of mind. Triple Sigh!! Great pairing by the author. I give it a 4 out of 5.
