Review: Uncontrollable (The Nature of Grace #2) by S.R. Johannes

Book Blurb

As Grace recovers from tragedy, her science class is chosen by Agent Sweeney at the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to help with research on the new "Red Wolf Reintroduction Program".

While she’s excited about helping with the conservation of the endangered wolves, Grace knows this means being outdoors in the worst winter recorded, in a place she no longer feels comfortable. It also means working closely with Wyn (her ex) and his annoying girlfriend (Skyler), a girl whose idea of getting close to nature is picking silk plants and growing fake plants.

After a couple of wolves show up dead, Grace almost quits. However, when a fellow project team member goes missing, Grace continues the assignment under a renewed suspicion that someone might be sabotaging the conservation program. She quietly begins to hunt for clues.

Little does she know, she is being hunted too.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

A few months ago Grace lost her father and the boy she loved. She was completely devastated. Her best friend, Wyn, turned his back on her and the whole town blamed her for what happened. She had to pick up the pieces of her life and keep moving, but she has not been back into the woods since that time.

One day at school everything changes, she volunteers for the Red Wolf Project. A group of students will track and observe red wolves in the wild to make sure it is safe to reintroduce them into the wild. This project forces Grace to go back into the woods where she needs to be.

Once the project gets under way the groups start finding dead wolves and Grace feels something isn’t right. She is afraid Al is back to kill her after he killed her father. Grace is terrified he will come after her.

The project becomes dangerous as students get injured as they search. There are shocking revelations and betrayals as Grace finds out the truth behind what is really going on.

This is the second book in The Nature of Grace series. I loved the first book and was excited to read this one. It did not disappoint. It was action packed and full of surprises. I absolutely love Grace’s character. She has been through the most heart breaking things but continues on. She chooses to do what is right even though it may be dangerous. She is easy to like and tough.

The adventure she encounters keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. I couldn’t put it down as I tried to figure out who the bad guy really was. The author did a fabulous job keeping you believing it was one person when actually it was someone else entirely. An Awesome read! I give it a 5 out of 5.
